Arundell stars as Bath top Prem table with comeback win over Saracens
Henry Arundell scored the winning try as Bath came from behind to complete a 36-29 win away to Saracens on Sunday that took the reigning English champions three points clear at the top of the Prem table.
With the title rivals' level at 29-29 and just four minutes left at London club Saracens' home ground, England wing Arundell ran in his second try of the match after an early intercept effort for the visitors.
On a weekend that marked the return of the Prem -- the new name for the Premiership -- following the end of England's Autumn Nations Series campaign -- the clinching moment was made possible by Arundell's Test team-mate Max Ojomoh, who caught Scotland fly-half Finn Russell's low pass and sprinted ahead before delivering an excellent pass of his own.
Ojomoh was the match-winner in England's victory over Argentina last week.
And Sunday's appearance, albeit as a last-quarter replacement, was another indication of Ojomoh's quality as the centre looks to retain his England place for the Six Nations amid strong midfield competition.
Bath's win was all the more admirable as they only took the lead for the first time in the 54th minute, having fallen 14-0 behind early on.
Saracens scored tries on each of their first two visits to Bath's 22, with Max Malins and Juan Martin Gonzalez finishing fine attacks.
But Bath responded with a Russell penalty and a blistering Arundell intercept from some 80 metres out.
